Look for Someone Who Communicates Clearly
Website projects go wrong most often not because of technical failure but because of poor communication. The developer who responds quickly and clearly before you've paid them is far more likely to remain responsive once the project is underway.
Pay attention to how long they take to reply to your first enquiry. Notice whether they explain things in plain language or hide behind technical terms you don't understand. These early signals matter.
Don't Choose Based on Price Alone
The cheapest quote is rarely the best choice, and the most expensive isn't automatically the best either. What matters is value -what you're actually getting for what you're paying, and whether that developer is likely to still be reachable six months after your website goes live.
A website is not a one-time transaction. It's the beginning of an ongoing relationship. Choose someone you can actually work with over time, not just someone who can deliver a file.
